The morning after shouldn't be a mystery

A big night out rarely leaves you with a clean record of what happened. Names get lost, photos end up scattered across your camera roll, and getting home safely is easy to think about only after you've already had a few. NightReceipts is a small, private app for handling both halves of that problem: capturing the night while it's happening, and making sense of it the next morning.

What it does

01

Start a Night

One tap opens Night Mode: a simple set of tools built for capturing things in the moment instead of trying to reconstruct them tomorrow.

02

Met Someone

Save a name, a photo, and a quick note on why they mattered, before it turns into "wait, what was their name again?"

03

Remember This

A fast voice memo or quick note for anything worth keeping, without stopping to type out a full paragraph.

04

Photo & Video

Capture the moment directly in the app, so it's organized by night instead of buried in your camera roll next to everything else.

05

Get Me Home

A one-tap safety panel: call a trusted contact, send a pre-written "come get me" text, share your live location, pull up walking or transit directions, or start a check-in timer that follows up on you automatically.

06

Trusted Contacts

Set up the people who should hear from you, ahead of time, so a single tap is all it takes on the night itself.

07

Morning Recap

Wake up to a full recap: every photo and voice memo in one place, a timeline of the night, and a playful verdict on how it all went, no lecture attached.

08

Auto-Delete, Any Time

Set nights to auto-expire after a chosen number of days, or delete any single night, or everything, yourself, whenever you want.

Private by design

NightReceipts doesn't run on a server, doesn't require an account, and has no public profile or feed. Nothing is posted automatically, anywhere.

Everything stays on the device. Nights, photos, voice memos, notes, and trusted contacts are stored locally using Apple's on-device SwiftData storage. There is no NightReceipts cloud or backend, and no account to create.

Safety features use your own Messages and Maps apps. A "come get me" text or a shared location link opens the iOS Messages compose sheet, pre-filled but never sent automatically. You always tap Send yourself. Ride requests and directions open Uber, Lyft, or Apple/Google Maps directly.

Voice memo transcription is a heads-up, not a guarantee. Unlike AVDoc, NightReceipts doesn't force transcription to stay strictly on-device, so depending on your phone and language, Apple's Speech framework may process audio on Apple's servers rather than locally. The audio and text stay within Apple's system either way, not ours, but if on-device-only transcription matters to you, that's a real difference worth knowing before you rely on it.
