Software, built to solve a real problem.
AVDoc came out of years spent documenting AV systems by hand, and Relay out of years of supporting rooms after the install. What Size Am I? and ExtempReady came out of problems just as real, just not AV problems. Different domains, same instinct: notice something genuinely annoying, build the smallest thing that actually fixes it, and keep it private by default.
Relay
An AV support platform for integrators: Room Help requests, the conversation, the room's context, and the full history in one place, so whoever picks up the issue already knows what came before. A web platform rather than an app.
Preview Relay →AVDoc
A field-documentation app for AV technicians: site takeovers, visit history, label scanning, network discovery, and client-safe reports, all stored on-device with no account required.
View AVDoc →Patch & Pray
An AV trivia and troubleshooting game: diagnose real failures, build a reputation you can lose, and find out if you're actually the smartest tech in the room. No account, no ads, works offline.
View Patch & Pray →What Size Am I?
A private family app for tracking everyone's clothing, shoe, and brand-specific sizes: never guess their size again, all stored on-device with no account required.
View What Size Am I? →ExtempReady
A private speaking timer and rehearsal coach for iPhone and Apple Watch: discreet haptic timing cues, on-device delivery analysis, no account, no cloud, no ads.

We build software when we run into a problem worth solving, wherever it shows up. Have one you'd like solved, or want early access to what's next? We'd like to hear about it.
Get In Touch →Why ControlBytes builds its own tools
We're not trying to be a software company that does everything. Each app starts because one of us ran into a specific, real problem and didn't like the existing options, so we built the smallest tool that actually solved it.
- Built From Real ProblemsEvery feature starts as something one of us actually needed, not a roadmap exercise.
- No BloatWe'd rather ship a tool that does one job well than a platform that does ten jobs adequately.
- Private by DefaultOn-device processing and local-first storage unless there's a real reason to leave the phone.
- Built to LastSame philosophy as our control programming: clean, maintainable, and built to still make sense in five years.
