What Size Am I? Privacy Policy

This is the privacy policy for the What Size Am I? app ("What Size Am I?"), built by ControlBytes, LLC. ("ControlBytes," "we," "us"). Each app we build handles data differently, so What Size Am I? has its own policy rather than sharing one with our other software. It's designed around one rule: what you enter belongs to you, not to us. For how the ControlBytes website itself handles data, see the website privacy policy.

What data exists, and who creates it

Using What Size Am I?, you can create records like: family member profiles (including a name and, if you choose, a photo), clothing and shoe sizes by category and by brand, body measurements, and fit reports noting that something no longer fits. All of it is entered by you. What Size Am I? doesn't collect anything on its own in the background.

Where it lives

Everything above is stored locally on your iPhone, using Apple's on-device SwiftData storage. What Size Am I? does not currently operate a server or cloud backend, and does not require an account to use. A future version may add optional Family Sharing over iCloud so a household can stay in sync; if that ships, this policy will be updated to describe it before it's active.

Photos

Profile photos are chosen through Apple's built-in photo picker, which only hands the app the specific photo you select. It never gets broader access to your photo library, and no permission prompt is needed for it to work that way.

Sharing (Shopping Card & Gift Sizes)

What Size Am I? can generate a plain-text summary of a family member's sizes, for your own shopping trips or to hand to someone buying a gift. This only happens when you ask for it, it excludes anything you've marked private, and you choose where it goes through the iOS share sheet. We never see it.

Permissions What Size Am I? may request

• Notifications: for optional seasonal reminders (like back-to-school or winter), scheduled locally on your device.

Notifications are opt-in and can be turned off at any time in the app's settings. No other system permissions are required to use the app.

No ads, no analytics, no data sale

What Size Am I? contains no advertising, no third-party analytics SDKs, and no tracking libraries. We don't sell or share your family's data with anyone, because we don't have a copy of it to begin with.

Data retention and deletion

Data stays on the phone until you delete a specific record, or delete the app itself, which removes everything What Size Am I? stored (standard iOS behavior for local app data). Because ControlBytes never receives a copy, there's nothing on our end to separately delete.

Children's privacy

What Size Am I? is intended to be used by adults managing their own family's information, and is not directed at children. A parent or guardian may enter and store information about their children (such as clothing sizes) within their own private, on-device household. That information is never transmitted to ControlBytes or anyone else unless the parent or guardian chooses to share it themselves.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes (including if What Size Am I?'s architecture changes to add optional cloud sync or AI features in the future), this page will be updated and the "Effective" date above will change accordingly.
